‘Fake’ clearing agent in court for assaulting policeman....READ MORE HERE

A 34-year-old ‘fake’ clearing agent, Basil Ogbuehi, has been arraigned in Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly
assaulting one Inspector Egbechi Adeniyi of the Nigeria Police Force traffic department.
Ogbuehi pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges against him.
He was accused of obstructing the police officer, slapping him on the face and holding his uniform while executing his lawful duties.
The prosecutor told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 24 at about 9:45am at the port access road in Apapa.
The alleged offences contravene sections 112 and 172 (a & b) of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.I Alaka granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety. The surety must provide evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The case was adjourned to April 3 for mention.
